Head Coach Danny Stewart said: “Getting a guy like Brock gives us very high-end skill, and another guy that can play the middle. His production at all levels speaks for itself.

“His season last year got badly interrupted by a long bout of severe COVID. He’s clear of it now, and motivated to come to Coventry.

“He brings a wealth of experience and will be an elite player for us. Not only is he very good on the powerplay, but will pose a threat every night five-on-five.

“He can score, he’s got great playmaking ability, and his creativity will make those around him better.

“This is a big signing for us, and I would also like to send a personal shout out to our Booster Club for their help on this one!”

Before his European career, Trotter spent four seasons in the American Hockey League, most notably with the Hamilton Bulldogs who he led for goals (36) in 2009/10.

His AHL form that season saw him called up to the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens for whom he iced two games.
