FOOTBALL: COVENTRY City’s Under 23s boosted their Professional Development League title hopes on Monday with a 4-3 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Jason Farndon’s side left London victorious, with the winning strike coming from an own goal off Palace defender Giovanni McGregor with 13 minutes remaining.
Jordan Ponticelli scored twice for the Sky Blues in the first-half, firstly through a volley from inside the box and the second from the penalty spot after a foul on Tom Bayliss.
Bilal Sayoud scored City’s third, after a one-two with Darragh Leahy, before the own goal gifted City the win.
The Under 23s are next in action on Monday, October 30, facing Millwall at the Ricoh Arena – kick-off is at 2pm.
