United show plenty of early intent in Championship draw

Coventry Editorial 23rd Aug, 2019   0

COVENTRY United Ladies began life in the FA Women’s Championship with a 0-0 draw away to Crystal Palace Ladies.

The Red and Greens were promoted last term after winning National League South, but looked no strangers to life at step two of women’s football and edged the share of chances.

Captain Sue Wood was upbeat about her sides’s start and said: “We played the better football, but at this level it’s about being clinical in the final third and they nearly punished us.

“But we can work on that in training and, if we can dominate the ball like that against teams, I think we can do well.”

Next up is a visit to London Bees’ Hive Stadium on September 8.
