COVENTRY City have signed defender Luke Woolfenden from Ipswich Town on transfer deadline day.
The centre-back has joined the Sky Blues for a reported fee of £4million and has signed a three-year deal with the club.
Woolfenden becomes Coventry’s fourth and final summer signing following the arrivals of Miguel Angel Brau, Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Carl Rushworth.
The 26-year-old played a key role as Ipswich achieved back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League.
The centre-back made 41 league appearances in each of Ipswich’s two promotion-winning campaigns.
He then made 15 appearances last season as the Tractor Boys suffered relegation from the Premier League last term.
Woolfenden came through Ipswich’s youth academy and made a total of 214 appearances scoring five goals.
His arrival ends a busy transfer deadline day for the Sky Blues which saw four players depart the club.
Coventry sold captain Ben Sheaf to Championship rivals Wrexham in a £6.5m deal.
Striker Norman Bassette has joined French Ligue 2 side Stade de Reims on a season-long loan with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
Young winger Raphael Borges Rodrigues has joined League One club Wigan Athletic on loan for the season.
And young striker Justin Obikwu has completed a move to Lincoln City for the 2025/26 campaign.
