THE ‘HEARTBROKEN’ family of Leo Moran, who tragically died after being struck by a car on Gosford Street on Sunday morning, have described him as someone who brought ‘fun and laughter’ to everyone’s lives.
The 44-year-old died following the collision, while hospital worker Joel Carriedo also passed away after being struck by the same vehicle on Woodway Lane shortly afterwards.
A suspect was arrested on suspicion of two counts of murder and has since been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
A family statement said: “Leo was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend to so many, he brought so much laughter and fun to all of our lives.
“We are now giving the police time to give us the answers we will need to understand how and why this happened. This will be the only public statement we will be giving.”
Another person who was struck on Gosford Street has been treated for injuries which are not life-threatening.
Coventry Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with what happened.
The force added from the information it has, the incident was not being treated as terror-related.
Gosford Street, Woodway Lane and surrounding roads were closed, some for ‘a considerable amount of time’, following the collisions as police conducted their initial investigations.
