Police arrest man following serious assault in Coventry

POLICE have arrested a man following a serious assault in Coventry on Tuesday (March 24).

A man in his 40s was attacked at an address in Irving Road in Hillfields just after 3pm. He was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries.

Following police enquiries and a public appeal for information, a man aged 25 was arrested in Coventry on Wednesday (March 25).

He was taken to police custody to be questioned on suspicion of aggravated burglary and attempted theft of a motor vehicle.




Det Insp Sherrie Kimberley from Coventry Police said: “Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal, and to the community who passed useful information to us.

“As we work tirelessly to keep Coventry safe, we rely on the public to help be our extra eyes and ears, and this can lead to really positive results.


“Our investigation is continuing and anyone with information that has not yet spoken to us should please get in touch.”
