Coventry Editorial 5th Jun, 2018   0

A CAVALCADE of motor tricycles will be en route to Abbey Fields in Kenilworth this weekend.

The annual Kenilworth Lions Grand Show takes place on Saturday (June 9), and it will be opened at 12.30pm by deputy mayor Patricia Cain, who will be arriving in the now customary way by motor tricycle, a number of which will process through the town ahead of the show.

During the afternoon there will be a range of acts performing, including the Royal Spa Brass Band, the Whiteman Dance Academy, Romany Pie, and even Elvis.

There will also be stalls from local charity and voluntary organisations, and town businesses, and a grand raffle.

Entrance to the show is free, with parking available off Forrest Road for a small fee, organised and marshalled by local scouts.

The main sponsors of this year’s show are Penman Solicitors, Boothroyds Estate Agents, Damian Plant Solicitors, and Aromatics of Kenilworth.

* THE ANNUAL Rotary Club of Kenilworth Two Castles Run takes place on Sunday (June 10).

Some 4,000 runners will be setting off on the 10km course between Warwick and Kenilworth castles at 9am.

There will be a number of road closures in place for the ever-popular event which raised around £100,000 last year for good causes.
