SKY Blues players lifted the spirits of children, families and staff at Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice when they paid a visit.

Coventry City players Joel Latibeaudiere, Liam Kitching and Bobby Thomas spent time with babies, children and families supported by the hospice, while highlighting the vital work the charity does for the community.

The players took time to meet families, chat with staff and take part in a kick-around with some of the children.

They were taken on a tour of the hospice facilities and learned more about the work carried out by the dedicated care team.

Staff also shared how community support and awareness from local organisations, including the football club, plays a vital role in ensuring the hospice can continue providing its free services.

Joel Latibeaudiere said: “The visit was really nice – we met some great kids.

“I think it’s important for us to show our support for the parents and the kids that are going through a tough time – it gives them a bit of a break.”

Liam Kitching added: “It’s nice to come here and see smiles on people’s faces and to make people happy.

“It’s a bit of time out of our day but it means a lot to them so it was good to come down, meet the children and see all the hard work that the staff do here.”

Bobby Thomas said: “It was a humbling experience to see the work the staff are putting in to look after the children. To see the work they do is amazing, so hats off to them.”

A Zoe’s Place spokesperson said the visit gave everyone at the hospice a lift.

They added: “Smiles, laughter and memorable moments filled the hospice as the players helped create a warm and uplifting atmosphere for those spending time there.

“Having the players from Coventry City spend time with our children and families means so much to everyone here. Their visit helps raise awareness of the care and support we provide every day; we couldn’t be more grateful for the ongoing partnership and support from Coventry City FCs team.”

Coventry City FC Supporter Services Officer Leigh Thomson said: “Our visit to the hospice is always a very important and heartwarming one. To see the excellent work by the hospice at first hand and to meet children and parents is truly humbling, and underlines the importance of the hospice and the fundraising done by the club and our supporters over many years.”
