Suspected motorway road rage attack prompts witness appeal

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a motorway slip road near Warwick.

It happened around 6.50pm on Saturday on the slip road of Junction 15 of the M40 northbound close to the Longbridge roundabout.

Two cars, a white Vauxhall Corsa and a blue Toyota Corolla, came to a stop on the slip road following a suspected road rage incident on the motorway.

A man and a woman in the Toyota are reported to have got out of their car and attacked another man and woman in the Vauxhall.




A 27-year-old man suffered serious injury to his head after being struck with a glass bottle and sustained a broken tooth. He was treated in hospital but has since been released.

A 28-year-old woman was also treated in hospital after she suffered a broken finger. She has also since been released.


The male suspect was Asian, in his 20s, around 5’6” to 5’8” tall, with short dark brown hair and some scarring to his face.

The female suspect was also Asian and in her 20s, Asian, with long dark hair and wearing glasses with clear frames.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of it is urged to call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 260 of 5 July.
