YOUNGSTERS are being invited to indulge their ‘spirit of adventure’ by becoming Police Cadets.
Recruitment is now underway for Warwickshire Police’s Cadet scheme, which is open to anyone in the North Warwickshire area aged 13 to 16 on or before September 1 2019.
Cadets support local police by volunteering, working with partner agencies and getting involved in their communities.
They take part in activities including self-defence training, marching, fitness, team building, role playing and Outward Bound events.
North Warwickshire Cadet Leader PC Lee Marston said: “The scheme is aimed at young people who wish to gain a practical understanding of policing and develop their spirit of adventure and good citizenship.
“Cadets are a family where discipline, friendship and team work are all important. You will have the satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference to your community and developing yourself for any future career.”
Cadets will attend weekly meetings and volunteer for 15 hours of work or events per quarter.
