COVENTRY City have reportedly fallen behind another Championship club in the race to sign Blackburn Rovers captain Lewis Travis.
Derby County now lead the chase to sign Travis from Rovers with Blackburn reportedly braced to lose their captain, according to SportsBoom.
Travis has a year left on his contract with Coventry linked to the midfielder back in June.
And Derby now lead the race to sign the 27-year-old ahead of Coventry and newly-promoted Wrexham.
A move to the Rams would see Travis reunite with former boss John Eustace.
Travis spent 10 years in Liverpool’s academy before he was released and made the switch to Blackburn.
He earned his first professional contract as a 19-year-old and became club captain in July 2022.
Travis won promotion from League One with Rovers in 2017/18.
And he also helped Ipswich Town secure promotion to the Premier League during a brief loan spell in the 2023/24 season.
