COVENTRY Sphinx secured back-to-back home wins in the league for the first time this season with a 2-0 victory against Basford United.
Goals either side of half time from Harvey Smith and the returning Jamal Adams earned Sphinx the points at the Cameron Slater Arena.
The result means Coventry sit seventh in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, one point outside of the play-off places.
Sphinx broke the deadlock on 32 minutes when Smith turned home a cross from the left from close range.
And the home side doubled their lead on 58 minutes as Adams marked his return to the club with a goal from an indirect free-kick.
Coventry are next in action against Anstey Nomads on Tuesday, November 4 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Cameron Slater Arena.
