FOOTBALL - Coventry Sphinx suffer first home defeat since September against Worcester City

COVENTRY Sphinx saw their four-game unbeaten run at home come to an end following a 2-0 defeat against Worcester City.

Second-half goals from Taylor Townsend and Elliott Hartley condemned Coventry to defeat at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.

And the result means Sphinx sit 15th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, three points above the relegation zone.

The visitors broke the deadlock on 53 minutes when Townsend finished past Charlie Woods following a strong run from Jordan Lymn.

And City sealed the points on 73 minutes as Hartley pounced on a poor clearance to finish beyond Woods via the aid of the post.
