EPHRON Mason-Clark admits he and his Coventry City teammates were ‘ecstatic’ after securing a hard-fought win against Blackburn Rovers.
Mason-Clark played a key role in both of Coventry’s goals as he saw a pair of crosses cleared into the paths of Victor Torp and Brandon Thomas-Asante who netted stunning volleys.
And the winger praised City’s resilience to break down a stubborn Blackburn side at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Mason-Clark said: “We’re all ecstatic to get a result against a tough side to play against.
“It shows how hard we are [to play] as a team, that certain teams come here and try to make it as difficult as they can.
“We weathered the storm and were prepared and showed our resilience throughout the game.
“Everybody is pulling their weight and adding to the team is something which top teams have within their squad.”
The win ensured Coventry stay top of the Championship table with the Sky Blues one point clear of second-placed Middlesbrough.
However, Mason-Clark insists he is not looking at the league table just yet with 36 league games left to play.
Mason-Clark: “It’s early in the season. We’re not really looking at the table per say.
“We’re just taking each game as it comes, we’re not really looking at those around us.
“We’re just focused on ourselves and making sure we’re not only prepared for home games but away games as well.”
Coventry are next in action against Portsmouth on Tuesday, October 21 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Fratton Park.
