FRANK Lampard insists there are ‘more improvements to come’ following Coventry City’s frustrating goalless draw against Millwall.

Lampard maintained his unbeaten start at the Coventry Building Society Arena in a game of few chances as Jack Rudoni went closest to breaking the deadlock when his effort hit the bar and the post.

And Lampard expressed his delight at recording successive clean sheets in the league – a first for the club in over a year.

Lampard said: “Only frustrated with the result, because we keep a clean sheet which is big for us for how the season has gone, so that’s back-to-back now.

“I think we should win the game with the big chance of the game. It’s unfortunate for Rudi because it’s a great team move and its great play from him and if that foes in then you win the game one-nil.

“Frustrated with the result but happy with the performance and the positives I can see. We can always be better and things we can improve on, but there was some good stuff out there.

“There are good things out the game and things we can get better at.”

Lampard also heaped praise on his players but confirmed in-form winger Ephron Mason-Clark will miss the next few weeks with a hamstring injury.

Lampard added: “The players are improving, and the players are great in terms of wanting to take on information and they’re a pleasure to work with in that sense.

“Playing it in games in a tight turnaround in the month we’ve been here, a lot of our practice is in game, so we can see improvements and there is more to come.

“He (Mason-Clark) has a hamstring injury, so we expect him out for a few weeks.

“We’re hopefully Haji will be back on the training pitch with us on the grass in early January.

“They are two huge attacking players for us and I haven’t had chance to work with Haji yet, but I’m aware of his qualities.”

Coventry are next in action against Cardiff City on Wednesday, January 1 with kick-off at 3pm at the Cardiff City Stadium.
