KASEY Palmer admits Coventry City have made a ‘slower start’ to the season than anticipated but is hopeful the Sky Blues can push on over the coming weeks.
Palmer came off the bench to earn his side a point in a 1-1 draw at Bristol City as the Sky Blues moved on to four points from their opening three matches.
And the midfielder admitted City were far from their best at Ashton Gate but could look back on the draw as a good point come the end of the season.
Palmer said: “A slower start than we would have wanted, but in football it’s not going to always go to plan, but it’s a 46-game season, so hopefully we can build on this and push up the table.
“On another day, we push on and we score one of the other chances and we leave here buzzing.
“We were far from our best, we didn’t really get going but to leave with a point, we could look back at it as a good point, if we back it up with a win.
“We weren’t at our best, but we kept going, so to come away with a point, it’s a good point, we take the point and move on.”
Coventry are next in action in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, August 27 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
