RUGBY UNION - Coventry Rugby name team to face Chinnor with captain Poole rotated to bench

COVENTRY Rugby have named their squad ahead of the club’s trip to Chinnor this weekend with captain Jordon Poole rotated to the bench.

Head coach Alex Rae has made changes to his side while scrum-half Sam Maunder misses out after receiving a three-match suspension following the club’s win against Bedford Blues.

Coventry captain Poole rotates to the bench for the first time this season with Suva Ma’asi coming into the side.

Aristot Benz-Salomon and Matt Johnson join Ma’asi in the front row.

Behind them, Allan Ferrie, Senitiki Nayalo, Mackenzie Graham and Tom Ball make up the second row.

Rae hands the armband to Morgan Strong in Poole’s absence.




Behind the scrum, Josh Barton replaces the suspended Maunder and partners Tommy Mathews at half-back.

The centre pairing remains the same from the win against Bedford as Dafydd Rhys-Tiueti and Oli Morris start once again.


And Tom Bacon retains his spot at full-back with Ewan Baker and David Opoku-Fordjour starting out wide.

Among the replacements, Poole, Keston Lines and Eliot Salt cover the front row.

And Dan Green and Onisivoro Sukani Nayagi add further options in the forwards.

And Tom Miles, Josh Thomas,and Api Bavadra complete Coventry’s squad.

Coventry travel to Chinnor on Saturday, October 18 with kick-off at 3pm at Rectory Pavilion.
