COVENTRY CITY have announced that popular midfielder Gus Hamer has signed a new contract with the club until July 2024.
Hamer’s previous deal expired at the end of the next season having arrived from Dutch side PEC Zwolle in the summer of 2020.
The Brazilian-born Dutchman has been a revelation during his time with the Sky Blues and is a key player in Mark Robins’ squad.
And the 24-year-old’s impressive performances have attracted reported interest from the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Leeds United and Brentford.
However, his new deal ties down one of City’s most valuable assets for at least another two seasons.
Hamer has made 74 appearances for the club scoring seven goals having netted in their defeat at Swansea City last weekend.
