COVENTRY Chess Club are hoping to attract more players to the club’s recently-opened junior section.
The juniors club is open to players aged seven to 15-years-old with sessions taking place at St John Vianney Church Hall on Tuesday’s from 5pm until 6pm during term time.
Players will be given instruction from a professional chess coach each week followed by playing games against other children.
Club Coach, Rhys Edwards said: “Coventry Chess club have been having one or two younger players show up each month this year which prompted us to set up a junior club in October so the children can enjoy the social aspect of playing against other children their own age.
“We hope to have 15-20 children in the junior club by next year. Children pay £4 per session and can pay as you go this year, so make the smart move and come to try out the club!”
