State-of-the-art features set to be introduced at Coventry Golf Club

ONE of the longest-established golf courses in Warwickshire has agreed a deal to introduce a range of new state-of-the-art features.

Coventry Golf Club is partnering specialist golf tech marketing operation, Whole-in-one Golf, to deliver a range of advanced features including new GPS systems for its buggies, hole-by-hole 3D flyovers and new smartphone apps that will add to the overall experience for visitors and members.

The course, which has played host to a range of top-level amateur and professional courses and has been selected to host British Open qualifying five times, says the move will help the club become more attractive to modern golfers ahead of its 130th anniversary next year.

“We’ve always been a forward-thinking club and we’re very excited to bring these improvements to Coventry Golf Club,” said Coventry Golf Club secretary Kay Forrest.

“Technology in golf has come on enormous strides and we need to embrace that to attract a new golf market, but also ensure longstanding members and returning visitors get the very best golf experience, both on and off the course.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Whole in One Golf.”

The partnership with Whole in One Golf will also see the installation of new TVs into the clubhouse and a new content management system. Whole in on Golf utilises the new platforms it installs at clubs to generate new advertising, sponsorship and corporate opportunities.

“Coventry Golf Course is steeped in history and is one of the leading English courses,” said Dan Weir, director at Whole in One Golf.

“We’re thrilled to be supporting them with these additions which will add a contemporary dimension to the players’ on course experience and the off-course facilities.

“Golfers, regardless of whether they’re members or visitors, are a discerning breed. They demand the very best technological developments from the courses they play.

“Our operation not only helps golf courses achieve that, but opens them up to new corporate and funding streams. It’s a simple, no cost opportunity for any course looking to improve their appeal in what is becoming an increasingly competitive market.”

Whole in One Golf has been operating for almost six years and, in that time, has installed its unique packages to more than 110 golf courses across the UK.

It has recently agreed an extended new deal with Sky Sports to provide its hole-by-hole 3D flyover tech to the media giant’s coverage of the upcoming EuroPro Tour this summer.
